The York and North Yorkshire region is highly significant for UK agriculture – we have almost
7000 commercial farms producing around 20% of the UK’s agri-food. There is huge potential
for our region to use anaerobic digesters to create low carbon farms. This technology helps
to reduce the environmental impact of the food produced, as well as farm energy costs and a
reliance on fossil-based fertilisers.
This one-day workshop provides knowledge exchange, networking and a discussion forum
to focus on the challenges of farm scale anaerobic digestion and how best to overcome
these to realise the potential of this technology.
